Mallock Seals Return to the British GT Championship - 12th April 2011

Successful Northampton based driver to challenge for GT4 Class Honours in KTM X-Bow

Northampton 12th April 2011 2010 GT4 European Cup runner-up, Michael Mallock has today announced that he has secured a season long drive alongside Greek driver Athanasios Ladas in the GT4 class of the Avon Tyres British GT Championship.

Fresh from competing with Ladas at the opening rounds of the MSA Endurance Championship at Silverstone, and the GT Trophy at Donington Park, Mallock is looking to continue his great form in British GT with the KTM X-Bow.

"The target for the year is the GT4 championship win. The KTM is a great little car, and we won last time out so hopefully we'll carry the momentum onto Oulton,"said 28 year-old Mallock.

Last year Mallock competed in the British GT Championship at the Rockingham round with Ladas and KTM in two sprint races; scoring two impressive class wins, fastest laps and taking the lap record for a GT4 car, breaking Nigel Moore's 2009 effort.

"ABG will be running the car and Peter Hignett runs a very good outfit, so I'm feeling very confident about the year. Ladas and I won both races last time out; it won't be easy but I'm aiming to carry on our one hundred per cent win record."

After three competitive seasons in the GT4 European Cup, Mallock's decision to concentrate efforts on the GT4 class of the new-look British GT Championship

"It's great to have a full time program in the UK after several seasons based in Europe, the British GT Championship has stepped up in terms of professionalism and competition since I was last involved in 2003, I think this will be a cracking season! It has been a long time since I've raced on a lot of the circuits, I'm sure they can't have changed that much though!"
