Michael Mallock took a fantastic second win of the weekend at Spa today, taking the flag by over 7 seconds in warm dry conditions at the infamous Belgian circuit.

Moving up to 3rd place on the first lap, Michael was right on the back of the leading Porsche and Nissan until the pitstops. "I made the decision to not battle the leaders in the first half of the race, I knew we were going to have issues with our tyres at the end of the race and was confident we could jump up the order during the stops."

Indeed after taking an early pitstop, Michael set about reeling off a series of fast laps, and as the Nissan of Ordonez and Buncombe left the pitlane Michael drafted past on the run down to Eau Rouge. In the remaining 20 minutes of the race Michael pulled out a seven second lead over the following pack.

After the podium Michael said “You wait 18 months for a win and you get 2 in two days. It's fantastic! I've always loved Spa, it's a great track and we knew it was going to suit the Aston Martin a lot better than the other circuits have. The guys at RS Williams have done a superb job all week. We had a few tyre issues yesterday so we made some changes for today and the car was that little bit better. It was a real handful for the whole race, but obviously we won this one on pace, whereas yesterday we won because other people fell off. So it's fantastic. It's great to be on the top step again!

I'd like to say a huge thank you to all involved in the programme, who have worked non stop so we could get the results that the team deserve, hopefully we wont have to wait to long to repeat the results!”
