Mallock to enter Walter Hayes Trophy - 21st October 2008

Michael will enter this years Walter Hayes Trophy in a 1969 Mallock Mk 9 Formula Ford.

The race will be Michaels first return to single seater since competing in the 1999 Formula Ford Winter Series with the factory Van Diemen team.

The Walter Hayes Trophy has established itself as something of a crowd favourite, and is now the largest race meeting for Formula Ford cars in the world. The Silverstone spectacular attracts over 150 Formula Ford 1600 cars each year, and on November 1-2 the eighth-running of the end-of-season knockout competition will take place at 'The Home of British Motor Racing'.

Through a series of heats and progression races, the massed ranks of Formula Ford 1600 racers aim to reach the Grand Final - the last event of the weekend, when the winner of the Walter Hayes Trophy will be crowned.

Michael will be competing in the very same Mallock U2 that his Uncle, Richard Mallock ran with great success in period, and hoping to show up a couple of the modern cars!
